An immaculately white she-cat with black-brown splotches and clear blue eyes.

[a p p e a r a n c e
Tempestwish naturally has small bones, and therefore, a small frame. Many mere acquaintances who does not know one fact about her have questioned her ability to fulfill duties of a deputy when, undoubtedly, she gives you such a soft and fragile impression? But first impressions are liars, in most cases, at least. Tempestwish's impressions definitely lied to you. She is neither soft nor fragile, and not even small. It is only her build that misleads you to think that way. Yes, she is unequivocally female. But her feminine appearances all but disappeared at the finale of her apprenticeship. In their places stood physical traits that are more masculine and able. If it weren't for her face, anyone would mistake her as a tomcat rather than a strong she-cat.

Despite being small-framed, Tempestwish is muscular and strong. Thick slabs of muscles can be seen bubbling beneath the surface of her pelt. They don't make the she-cat look quite unsightly as some overly-muscular toms do, but rather make her appear dignified and powerful in her every single movement. Her limbs are long and skinny, swift in movement but rarely reach their full potential. She has a talent for running, and is able to outrun most of her clanmates, including felines from EveningClan and RisingClan too. She's not sure if she's competition for any FallingClan warriors, for it is their passion to run, and they've worked at it hard. The reason for her quickness is all of the strength hidden in her legs; those muscles are rarely used in running, and when they are a whirlwind of power is created, along with the insane speed.

Her tail is cut off at the midpoint by a twoleg trap accident when she was an apprentice, though it is still great in usages of strength and balance. Her carriage is tall and intimidating in proportion to her thin form. Intimidating, in a way that if what you fear is a looming shadow. She does tower over some of the other, more stumpy cats, but cannot be compared to toms like the mythical Tigerstar. She limps just a tiny bit when she walks, and that is also because of that cursed trap strewn around the forest by the twolegs. When it closed its hissing jaw on her, it caused her to lose half of her tail and broke the bone inside her fore-right leg. Because the top bit was fractured, it never completely healed and she never walked again like she used to.

The dominant color on Tempestwish's pelt is white. Clear, immaculate, almost translucent white lines her muscles and the bone structure inside. Patches, not many in number but vast in size, covers up a portion slightly less than half of that white. They are of a dark brown, almost black but with a burnt edge to them. Their shapes, like their general color and tone, does not vary much. All ovals or oval-like, her patches form a distinct bubbly pattern against the underlayer. Though the pattern resembles a happy polka-dot, its deep color masks the naive-ness in it and brings about an universal sense of royalty, elegance, and maybe a hint of sensuality? No, this she-cat isn't likely to be classified for being "sensual". Mainly because she will claw someone's ear off if she heard that kind of rumor being spread around.

Her voice does not differ much from an elder's; a scratchy edge tops off that special calm, monotone of hers. Most cats find it strangely bitter, as if everyday is a bad day for her. But no, most cats are mistaken. She is merely speaking with a voice inherited from her father, who bears almost the same type of tone but in a deeper, more masculine way. It is certainly not sweet or seductive, that I am sure. But as an authority figure with only one subject of superiority, that sweetness or seductivity is definitely unnecessary. She speaks commandingly, sometimes harshly. But something in her voice warns you that whatever she's telling you is right and if you don't follow her instructions, you will face consequences.

Tempestwish's face is one of immense beauty in itself, but often hardened with anxiety, stress, or things of the sort. Only rarely does she wear any sort of extreme emotions on her face. Normal facial expressions are mild ones, though not showing through on the outside, you can plainly see the overwhelming emotions she is feeling inside. Because of this particular trait, she is more often than not faultily accused of being cold and heartless. Most of her face, including the peak of her forehead, her snout, and her cheeks are the same spotless white found on the rest of her pelt. However, two large oval-like circles engulf her ears, as if opening two big holes to swallow her ears in. The ears themselves are very large, great for hearing. However, her sense of hearing isn't the best in the clan. The profusion of tiny baby furs found on and inside her ears doesn't do very much to attract sounds.

A part-white part-brown forehead, of measurements neither steep nor shallow, slides down the top of Tempestwish's head. Her eyebrows are like whiskers, except shorter and more pointy at the end. Her eye sockets are only a minor dip that flows down the side of her nose to carve out a prominent snout. At the sides of her snout are snow-white muzzles, from which her petite whiskers, ivory in color with a moon-like sheen, extends out. Her eyes are really something; they are two brilliant sapphire jewels embedded in her flat but dainty eye-sockets, deep like the ocean yet light as a feather. They are the only part of her face that expresses any emotions at all. While the rest of her face can sit there rigidly, the colorfulness at which she communicates her inner thoughts through those shining sapphire stones makes others wonder.

Remember that roses have thorns.

[p e r s o n a l i t y
The "tempest" part of Tempestwish's name speaks true of her personality. Even from when she was still a kit, her tantrums were thrown bigger and more flagrantly than any of the tantrums of her siblings (or kits from that time, to be more general). She had always been sharp tempered, throwing in a couple of cutting words every time something upsets her. Most of the time those words are not seriously meant, but in extreme cases when they should be taken seriously, she will no doubly find a way to let you know. But be careful, though. Her ways are not always the gentlest. However, don't think that she cannot be gentle and caring. She most definitely is capable of being maternal and embracing, but since she no longer hopes for a mate and kits, those capabilities are gradually lost in the sea of her mind. Possibilities where they might be found certainly exists, but nothing has evoked her to actually look for it yet. Right now her role is to be a good protector of the clan, and nothing else.

Though the "tempest" fit her like no other name can match, the personalities behind "wish" has long since faded. As an apprentice, Tempestwish loved daydreaming. She dreamed about everything there is to dream, from leading a clan to running off to be a loner. She wished about lots of things, too. And the number one priority wish that ran through her mind all day was being a true leader. But as she matured from a young warrior to a respected one, she learned to embrace reality like it is. The world in her dreams are just another imaginary light, and however hard Tempestpaw tried to make the savory dreams come true, it won't until much, much later. Tempestwish as a fourty-seven moons old warrior, however, has completely detached from her trance and into the harsh, punctual world, where probably the harshest feline in the clan is herself. When graced upon with an apprentice, Tempestwish puts in her maximum efforts to make the best warrior possible out of that apprentice. It will be a bumpy journey for the apprentice, that's most certainly true. She has extremely high expectations, most of the times expecting the same out of the apprentice as herself. She's only vaguely aware that a mere apprentice of six or seven moons cannot, without a question, match a senior warrior with several full moons of experience hanging down her legs. Really, it's not something that she could help with. Anyone would take pride in the fact that their own apprentice became the best warrior in the clan.

You can't necessarily say that Tempestwish is cold-hearted, though it would be very much appropriate in some cases. Cases in which someone proceeded with a betrayal to her or SunsetClan, she will leave that someone with wounds so deep you'd think they were born with them and bring the punishment they deserve upon them. In opposite cases, such as finding a loose kit wandering in the woods, she would take them back to camp and find them a good home. In other words, she wishes the best for every pure soul, and doesn't tolerate those with souls black and poisoned. She is very decisive, and almost impossible to sway from her decisions once they have been made. This might be a meandering way to say that she's annoyingly stubborn, but determined nonetheless. Good for SunsetClan that she has an uncanny ability to predict the future based on current situations and her knife-sharp logic, and her decisions are almost always correct. Not only is she decisive, she is the least gullible. Her keen vision seems to hovers over everything, always waiting to catch an error. This is the reason why she may seem a little scary and highly unapproachable. The reason that, no matter where, she'll be sure to keep everything under check, and notify Twinklestar immediately if something errs.

She is quite modest, even though she holds the position in the clan a target of envy for the cats. She is not known for bragging, and certainly not bluffing. She earns the respect (or rather "want to earn the respect") by working hard at what she does instead of babbling to people about what she had done. It was fairer that way, and she undeniably enjoys that respect better when she's deserved it. Nevertheless, she prefers compliments more than criticism. Loyalty is on her side, as she herself is especially loyal to what she believes in. Her Clan is her number 1 priority. Her life is willingly given for the wellness of her clan. But that hadn't been necessary, as Twinklestar, herself, and the medicine cat together with diligent warriors and apprentices have upheld the clan so smoothly and brought the cats of the clan to flourish. Sequential to that loyalty comes family and friends. She will, too, give up her life for them, though she understands what pain that will give them if she did give up her life. The three subjects of loyalty makes up the majority of Tempestwish's soul, and hold her morals straight like pillars.

vii. Unveil the story

Every history must begin with a mother, perhaps a father, and nothing more. Face it; those two roles are most essential to a complete history. And usually, the subject of the history, in our case Tempestwish, knows all about her past. But what if I told you that in fact, Tempestwish's history does not begin with her parents, and that she knew nothing of her true identity? Well, she's lucky she knew nothing.

The striking sunset hit SunsetClan camp as an equally striking yowl broke the air. The noise was manifestly a cry of pain, pain inflicted from a birthing female, a snow-white female by the name of Sheerfrost. A tom of the noble savanna brown breed was sitting silently next to her, in his mind thousands of prayers running through. He was watching every move of the medicine cat, tracing her paws as she worked over Sheerfrost. Trying to interpret her face as one moment she grimaced and the next all creases went out and a smooth grin surfaced. Finally, the medicine cat relaxed fully ,"Push," she told Sheerfrost, who was on the verge of fainting, "a little harder. It shouldn't be too far away." And so the white she-cat pushed gently; it was with all her strength. But that little push was enough. A litter of 3 perfect, gleaming kits were produced. As the pain eased, Sheerfrost smiled and brought smiles upon both the medicine cat and Brackenstorm, for that was the name of the father.

The three kits varied in color, markings, and eye color, and later on the parents found that they were as different as day and night personality-wise, too. If one approaches them, one would never tell that they are in fact of the same litter. Heronkit was dark brown with a white chest and belly, and had the same pale green eyes as Brackenstorm. Owlkit has color littered all over: different shades of brown, cream, and white, and blue eyes that looked like crystals. The other, a she-kit of which Sheerfrost named Finchkit, was patched with a lighter brown than that of Brackenstorm, and had a pair of almost liquid silver eyes. The mom and the dad spent almost every free minute of the day with the kits, for they were the most adorable creatures currently in the clan and that their beauty was undeniable. They attracted apprentices, warriors, and even elders to caress them and to play with them. You can almost say that they are getting spoiled.

Like every memorable moments, the blissful lives of the three kits did not last long. As leaf-bare rolled around and the kits have barely reached ages of one moon, a patrol to the northern SunsetClan territories reported back to the leader, "Foxes!" they howled uniformly, "I can scent a whole pack of them. All adult males save for one female and a litter of cubs." a senior warrior panted. Instinctively, Sheerfrost nudged the three kits back into the nursery and shielded them with her large, pudgy shape. But what could a single clan do against a pack of fully grown, male predators? The leader sent out warnings to the other three clans, who, under the circumstances that the foxes did not have to stay in SunsetClan territory, vowed that they were ready for the fight as not four clans but one.

Indeed, the fight came. It was worse than all four leaders have expected. The pack was enormously large to begin with, and when the lead fox saw that they were getting outnumbered, called out for backup among the open plains outside of clan territory. It was a bloody time for the clans. Families were separated, and friendships were broken. Many lives were lost, including those of Sheerfrost's and Brackenstorm's. The clan's boundaries are mostly dissolved by the unity of which bound them to fight the foxes. Eventually the flaming predators retreated, after stealing almost all the prey there was in leaf-bare. Exhausted, leaders tried to reorganize the clans. In their attempt, many cats scattered to different clans from where they were originated for one reason or another. Everyone was too tired to care. Fourtunately, most found their original clans and not too much bloodline was lost.

A SunsetClan warrior found Owlkit and Finchkit, and transferred them to his expecting mate to nurse. Heronkit, however, stumbled into EveningClan camp and grew up there. Day and day passed. To say that the three kins looked different when they were born, they were more drastically contrasted now that they're older. Heronkit's dark brown fur darkened, until it was almost a black color. Owlkit's markings morphed into some kind of tabby markings, and Finchkit's patches was lightened by the sun to a golden brown, burnt color. More days passed, and they became Heronpaw, Owlpaw, and Finchpaw, and later Heroncall, Owlshroud, and Finchwing. Owlshroud and Finchwing were convinced that they were born siblings, but knew nothing about a lost brother, for their memories were not yet registering every fact at the time of the separation. In fact, for all their life they did not know or imagine that Heroncall was their true brother.

The first time they met was at the borderline of SunsetClan and EveningClan territory. SunsetClan's patrol was made up of three warriors, two of them being Owlshroud and Finchwing. The EveningClan patrol, as you might have guessed, included Heroncall. Immediately as he spotted Finchwing and the graceful air in which she carried herself, he was mesmerized by her presence. Maybe it was because she resembled his first love, who loved another tom instead of him. But whatever the reason, he fell in love with her and convinced her to stay back from the patrol a while. After seeing him for a while, Finchwing started having feelings for him too. In the end, they knew that their love was heavier than clan boundaries, and decided to secede from warrior status. One night they ran away into the uncharted lands just beyond the slanted willows, and birthed kits.

What a tragedy was this dramatic irony, that we know something no one does and no one will ever find out. Of course, Finchwing's heart was broken when she found that out of her litter of four, two was naturally blind and one was unfortunately mentally retarded. The other, however, was flawless. She had a clean pelt of white, with dark brown patches that was similar to the tone of Heroncall's fur. Watching the tempest that clashed through the forest at the time of the birth, Heroncall blessed the name Tempestkit upon her wistfully, hoping that through all the hardships that she will face, she will stay strong as a tempest. There isn't much to the afterstory. Finchwing gave Tempestkit to Owlshroud, thinking that he might be a better parent than she would be. Coincidentally, Owlshroud's mate had just had a kit of her own, and gladly took in Tempestkit as a companion for her Rainkit. With no regret but only sorrow, the pair of loners took their defected kits far, far away into the unknown.

Of course, this is all beyond knowledge of Tempestkit. She lived a happy kithood with Owlshroud, his mate Riverchill, and their two kits Stonekit and Spottedkit. During her apprenticeship she practically governed over every apprentice and kit, including her step-brothers. There was two particular felines that she favored among all others: Dustpaw and Midnightkpaw. They both liked her, and she liked both, but was not aware that later, rivalry would sprout between the two over possession of her, and Midnightpaw would frame Dustpaw wrongly for a murder.

Her personality was unique at the time; no apprentices ever dreamed of leadership, but she did. Her ambition wasn't lightly put-off, but it wasn't dark. It just helped her succeed in her path to being a leader. She worked very, very hard at everything there was to work for, and so it was etched into everyone's heart, that Tempestpaw was going to make a fine leader one day. But then she stumbled into a fatal trap used only for foxes. At her size, you'd think it was a miracle that she even escaped. Miraculously, she did. Breaking off wasn't that easy and she put up a difficult strangle with the trap. With every fight there are prizes, and hers was a slightly fractured right shoulder and a tail broken in half. At first the limp was obvious and seemed deadly, as if with every step she would fall to the ground. The medicine cat, after keeping her in the medicine den everyday and making meticulous inspections, told her that she couldn't be trained like a normal warrior anymore.

It broke her. All her dreams shattered and fell, until it reached a black hole so dark the pieces no longer knew which direction to fall. When they couldn't fall anymore, something (maybe hope) lifted them up again and reconstructed them together to form the original dream. It was the current deputy, who told Tempestpaw stories about how he came to be deputy after he had one eye blinded by a rogue. Tempestpaw followed his lead, and worked extra hard, eventually reaching a state where the fractured shoulder became nothing more than a pest sometimes. The limp remained, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the medicine cat imagined it to be. And so she tore on through life rigorously, filled with life.

Wish, the warrior suffix given to her when her training was completed, signified the hope she had for her dreams and wishes she never gave up. A mighty warrior she made, and a mighty warrior she remained. Seasons and seasons rolled by. The old leader retired, and the half-blind deputy took on firm leadership. He had immense faith in Tempestwish, and he had himself saw how much she has been through. In turn, he gave her the deputy position, of which she has upheld by all powers.

i'm not sure if chimes will allow the history to be like this, but i thought this up because i was running out of ideas. sorry :3
and the half-blind deputy? brrr, ignore that part. it wouldn't really fit otherwise. so, the true leader is still twinklestar.

Enjoyable, intellectual and from a good point of view.
Very, very good. Exactly what I was looking for.

d e s c r i p t i o n
Lengthy, informative, and deep.
Good comparisons and although your writing is detailed, it is interesting to read.

h i s t o r y
I was a little iffy with the brother-sister relationship thing, but upon reading your history, it all made sense and came together wonderfully.
A different take on foxes and I liked reading it.
Pretty names and of course, very creative. I really, really loved her history.
The history is my favorite, after all...

o v e r a l l
You know I love your work, and really anything you do. I've been putting this off, well, quite frankly, because it is so darn good that I did not want to read through it all. <3 do not take it personally. The better they are, the longer I wait. I will try to work on that though, for your sake.

And without further a'due...
